Recognition Guide
On this website you will find a lot of important information regarding your professional recognition. The Austrian Integration Fund (Österreichischer Integrationsfonds – ÖIF) supports you in your integration and recognition of your professional qualifications.
The website is available in eight different languages.
The AST – Contact point for people who gained professional qualifications abroad supports you during the entire process and assists you with advice. We recommend contacting AST right from the very beginning of your process.
Medical doctors
As a medical doctor you must have your qualifications recognised by the austrian medical chamber (Österreichische Ärztekammer – ÖÄK). On ÖÄK’s website you will find information on the entire recognition process. The information sheet lists the appropriate steps in detail and the responsible contact persons.
This website also gives you an overview of the steps you need to take in order to receive a professional licence for Austria.
If you like to practise as a medical doctor, a dentist or a pharmacist and you already have successfully passed a German language test at the chamber to prove that you know sufficient German, you can ask here for financial support.
